2017 07 16 John Haller's Prophecy Update "Kicking the Can Down the Road"

2 Timothy 4, written as Paul was facing imminent death, states this, beginning in verse 1: "In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry." Paul implores us to stand strong in the faith and to resist compromising the Word of God for sake of acceptance. Paul charges us to be bold in our faith and to be ready to always give an answer for our faith. For doing so, detractors have now accused John of being a false teacher and FBC of being a cult. Itching ears begged to be scratched, but as you will see in the next 1:20, John does not, cannot and will not apologize for bringing to the attention of believers and non-believers alike the need to know the Jesus of Scripture and His free offer of salvation. We cannot leave preaching the Gospel to a generation of those who would distort, pervert and change it to satisfy their own desires. We also cannot love someone if we fail to warn them of a path they may be on which could lead to eternal condemnation. Loving someone to death is not something to brag about...but preaching the Word and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in their lives is what we must continue to do. So, to all you cult members out there, thank you for your faithfulness and prayers, well, of course don't have a choice anyway, right?" John elaborates in this week's update entitled "Kicking the Can Down the Road When You're at the End of the Road."
