Warning: extreme weather conditions are increasing worldwide

This is confirmed by two weeks of summer heat that fell over Canada and the United States when ice and snow of winter had not yet gone.In March, much of North America 'cooked' at high temperatures that melted snow and ice and broke records by far the heat of the last 150 years.

- The final report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warns that if the current rate of pollution of greenhouse gases will reach alarming levels a few years.

- More heat waves and high temperatures are recorded from 1950 and will continue to rise in coming decades, as the frequency of heavy rainfall in tropical regions and latitudes away from Ecuador.

- It is also likely to increase the speed of the winds of tropical cyclones, while falling or staying the same frequency of these events in the world.

- Droughts will be more intense in southern and central Europe, the Mediterranean region in central North America, Central America and Mexico, in northwestern Brazil and southern Africa.

- Rising sea levels, coupled with extreme weather, many places will be uninhabitable by the end of the century.

- Sites that already support these problems, such as small island states and coastal cities like Mumbai, could be abandoned if there are no significant reductions in emissions of greenhouse gases.

- According to the report, current spending in adaptation projects in developing countries is USD 1 000 million a year, a fraction of the estimated 70 000 million 165 000 million a year earmarked for technology to curb the pollution generated by greenhouse gases.

- All weather events are affected by climate change, because the environment in which they occur is warmer and wetter than before.

- The quantities of heat and moisture trapped in the atmosphere are powerful fuel for extreme events. And it makes little sense to discuss whether this or that storm was caused by climate change when the entire global climate system is altered.
